Over the years numerous magazines have produced articles, reviews and scenarios for Dark Conspiracy. This page collects those artefacts to ensure they are archived in one place.

Dragon Magazine

Originally the inhouse magazine of TSR (and then Wizards of the Coast), Dragon was ‘the’ source for regular gaming material in the 80s and 90s. While much of its content focused on Dungeons & Dragons (and its sister games), it often included material for other roleplaying games, such as Dark Conspiracy.

Included in this archive are:

  • Mission: Impossibly Dangerous, a collection of scenario hooks that appeared in Dragon issue #186 (October 1992), and
  • The Dragon Project, a suggestion on using a new Minion – the Darkwyrm – in Dark Conspiracy (Dragon issue #198, October 1993).

Polyhedron Omnibus

Polyhedron (formerly Polyhedron Newszine) was a magazine targeting consumers of role-playing games, and originally the official publication of the RPGA (Role Playing Gamers Association). Published – with some gaps – between 1981 and 2004, it included articles and material for Dark Conspiracy at least twice:

  • Issue #100 (October 1994) with Conspired to Succeed (a collection of new professions), and
  • Issue #142 (June 2000) with Without a Trace (introducing the Keyhole Stranglers as a new Dark Race).

White Wolf Magazine (Issue #29)

Published by White Wolf Publishing, White Wolf magazine was a source of all things roleplaying from 1986 to 1995. In Issue 29 (October/November 1991) the magazine include both a Review of Dark Conspiracy as well as an article on Vampire Hunting.

Vortext Magazine (Issue #6)

I can’t find much information about Vortext, except that it was published by Vortext Publishing and had a short run of 9 issues between 1991 and 1993. Issue #6 (Fall 1992) included On a Dark Desert Highway a collection of Dark Conspiracy encounters.
