That really is a very Russian solution to filling a gap in the market..."We have a car, we have a 4 wheel drive system, and we need a 4 wheel drive car"

The now-deleted spam you refer to was actually from China, a bit of a departure from our usual Russia and Philippines based spam.Story wrote:So now we know what a Dark Minion posting on the 'net reads like...

Anyway, gone!

Bradley teams up with our friends at the LAPD to check the tech on the all new Chevrolet Caprice PPV (Police Patrol Vehicle). From an infrared night vision camera to an automated license plate scanner, this Caprice cop car puts Robocop's '86 Taurus LX to shame.

The Mad-Max-Ican Truk is great. I remember that one Challange issue had stats for home made APC.

Re: Vehicle stats
I am sure this has been mentioned before somewhere, but here's the latest on the Carbon Motors cruiser, built from the ground up for police use rather than a conversion of an existing vehicle:

Re: Vehicle stats
Interesting bit about the Chevvy Caprice, it is actually the GM Holden Caprice, designed and built in Australia. It's kind of the luxury version of the Holden Commodore. The Chevvy Caprice starts life in Australia and is imported to & re-badged in the US.
This latest model Caprice is also of the same bodywork as the Holden Statesman, which is a more sedate version of the higher performance Caprice. The Statesman design is built in South Korea as the Daewoo Veritas.
The Holden Caprice is also shipped to the Middle East and re-badged as the Chevrolet Caprice.
That's a fine example for Dark Conspiracy of a trans-national corporation at work

Like the Pontiac GTO, which is the Monaro VXR converted to left-hand drive.

Oddly enough, just yesterday I was looking for a plain, nondescript sort of a car for a DC image I had in mind and I happened across the TATA Estate, which is what happens when you give the specifications of an outdated Mercedes to an Indian-based steel corporation.
Actually, "filing the numbers off" TATA and using them as a megacorp is an idea too

Don't forget the Chinese outfit SAIC who are currently knocking out rebadged Rovers.

Re: Vehicle stats
Interesting that you mentioned Tata, I have the vehicle division listed in my collection of corporations for my DC-London campaign. In the real world, the Tata Group is India's largest business group and has multi-national status with the ownership of such vehicle marques as Jaguar, Land Rover and Daewoo commercial vehicles.
The group has many portfolios such as chemical manufacture, communications/IT, coffee growing and electricity generation.
They also have a number of education and research facilities.

I have written up just such a vehicle for DC though I had a bit of fun with it, and used the Nanjing company's name instead
