Do you like Zip Guns?

I think they are a waste of time. Roll Average Electronics, Easy Gunsmith and Difficult Mechanics and you have: A Tank! (Okay it is not even a proper IFV but...I don't care)

That's perfect for the nomadic gangs who roam the Out Law areas Z! Good find.

I always thought the gangs who roamed the Out Law and badlands areas would have home-brewed trucks. similar to the ones used for road convoy escort during the Vietnam War. That one fits right in, and for a change it's nothing to do with Los Zetas or the other drug cartels :)

Oh, and let us not forget the Heemeyer Incident. Whatever people may think, he certainly knew what he was doing when he built that thing.

Watching one of the extras on the Doomsday DVD, it showed you how they built the two APCs in the film more or less from scratch. No idea how they'd fare in the real world, you could argue they weren't much cop in the movie.

There was some TV drama on the BBC in the 80s, can't remember what it was now, but for some scenes set in the USSR (filmed at Bankside before the Tate moved in) they built 2 full sized wooden mockups of T-55s. In order that these things could be moved around, they built them on top of a couple of MoT-failure Mini clubmans :)

I think the most interesting thing about that Syrian rebel vehicle is that they integrated the driving and the weapons with computers, TVs and gaming consoles - the guy in control of the weapons station looked like he was using a PlayStation controller.
They've got my admiration - anybody can weld or bolt together some heavy steel on a truck to provide an ad-hoc armoured vehicle but it takes a bit more brain power to convert a PlayStation to a weapons control system.
It's not whether you win or lose,

It's whether I win...

I remember from my childhood days there was a soviet song about the Tachanka (WARNING: Explicit Soviet Propaganda!) the technicals grandfather.
