TADA!

Post by Phulish »

The M1911/A1 action was essentually unchanged from 1911 to 1970 When Colt began to offer the MKIV Series 70, considered by some to be thier finest version. The .45ACP Government variants used a three fingered collet barrel bushing and a reversed taper barrel to tighten the action when fired. The goal was a pistol with superior accuracy that didn't need special tools for disassembly. Users soon found thatheavy use of hardball FMJ would break a finger on the collet bushing, so a swap of a standard bushing corrected this malady. A few years back Colt LLC brought the MKIV Series 70 back in blued and stainless steel. These new versions are slightly lighter, reflecting better metal and manufacturing. The series 80 is retained for those states requiring internal safeties.(*means no collet bushing)WT is for loaded pistol. These can use 8 rd mags, no change in weight.

Sometimes the forum software does that to a post :?

Good work, looks pretty comprehensive. I once had a range day with a Wilson custom M1911 in .38 Super, before the firearms crackdown over here. I found it very neat and easy to handle. 8)

I'm hoping this can go in the next Protodimension! BTW, Wilsons are nice, and expensive! My old MKIV Series 70 has needed parts from alot of firing, so I try to figure some of this for a T2K2 game as needed. Plus firing in a game is cheaper! For some examples I'm using the lesser vampires as a cross between a tactical target and ballistic gelaten. for players, one rolls the quick kill and says"you made it".

Cool, just put it all together and send it in to us! As for Lesser Vampires, I'm afraid it's their own fault!
