Links to some floorplans

Post by ReHerakhte »

While lurking on another forum I found a reference to a plan for a 'sick bay' so I followed up the architects and found the following site
http://www.hubschool.edu.pk/ths1_5.htm
This seems to be a major education project in Karachi, Pakistan and while many of the floorplans aren't immediately useful, I found the following to be interesting: -

Menial Apartment - looks like it could be very useful for a set of Prole apartments.
Teacher's Apartment - I think this could be used for low rent Mike apartments or maybe better quality Prole apartments.
Sick Bay - a small medical centre (note that the reference to MAIRON OFFICE is meant to be Matron's Office)

The Commercial Centre could be useful and the Library has an obvious use already but the Staff Club and Swimming Pool plans could also be good.

Cheers,
Kevin

And a link to a PDF of some small apartments
http://www.felicityfox.ie/floorplans/ur ... 20plan.pdf

It's three pages and the 2nd page actually has the floorplans.

P.S. More plans from the same Project
http://www.felicityfox.ie/floorplans/ur ... orplan.pdf

In these floorplans, the HP refers to Hot Press, which in Ireland is a "...warm cupboard where you put newly washed clothes until they are completely dry."

Dark Conspiracy New Orleans lists prole apaartments as 6'x8' and accommodating four!!! At first, I thought it was a typo, but with 48'-sq., that may be correct. After all, they are only used for sleeping, the corp provides paper clothes, and (at least in New Orleans) bathrooms are communal. And pretty filthy, I'm sure - like Trainspotting filthy. If I've done my math right (and I almost never have), four people could sleep side by side in a 48'-sq. room - and that's literally all they could do!

The Poor Houses, p. 11

The menial apartment seems like it would be more appropriate for a middle-management family apartment (provided by the corp and either housed in one of the middle levels of the same building or in a dedicated, stand-alone structure). The apartments would be duplexes (dupleces?), possibly with "shared" closets (the beige space). The Mike-Town suggestion seems right on the money.

Great find, man!

Here's an apartment complex that has some useful floorplans if you're looking for smaller sized homes for Mikes.
http://www.thechicagolofts.com/floor_plans/

Edit: after posting this originally I found another site that's probably useful for corporate apartments
http://www.gurgaonrealestate.com/emaar_floorplan.html

And as a finale, here's a site where you can register to use their software to design house floorplans
http://www.metropix.co.uk/mtpix/index.aspx

Cheers,
Kevin

Hey Zvezda, that's a fantastic find :D
Oil rigs converted into a community of some sort could become micro-nations - hmm, were have I read that before Lee*?

* For those who haven't seen the Demonground articles from Lee, he mentioned people living in abandoned oil rigs in his Republic Britain setting for DC.

Guilty as charged :P

I actually took the inspiration from the Sealand community and also a CP2020 article I read years and years ago. Sealand's official website is here.
