What map programs do you guys use? I think I need one.

I haven't used any mapping software for years, having gone the route of repurposing other maps or hand-drawing outlines and then scanning them and enhancing with Paint Shop Pro. Years ago I used AutoRealm but it is fiddly and not very intuitive, though not hard to learn. I'll ask around
