Sources on Europe in Dark Conspiracy

Post by tartex »

Hello.

I am new to this forum, and have been interested in Dark Conspiracy since the 1st Edition came out. But I only got the 1st Edition PDF two years ago and don't own any further products.

I wanted to know if there are any later publications you can recommend that give more details on Europe in the setting. I am mostly interested in continental Europe.

Thanks! :)

Welcome onboard!

In regards to your question, not really. The adventure 'Among the Dead' covers Moscow, and something of Russian, but not much more.

A few old issues of Demonground (http://www.demonground.org/) had some information on Dark Britain (written by my old friend Lee Williams), but as the title suggests it is UK based info.

Thanks so much for the reply!

So we don't even have a 3 lines overview?

In that case I guess I will work on my own material without restrictions.

I will try to get a the early 90ies vibe of a dystopian future right.

Do we know, if the next edition will keep the current timeline or update it?

Welcome aboard!

As Marcus says Europe in Dark Conspiracy has been all but ignored, and I think it's a great opportunity for you to create something to fill that gap. I'm pretty sure there's interest among the DC community, and maybe someone has some input that would help you. If you're on social media there's an active Facebook group, a less active G+ community, and also the Dark Times Fanzine Twitter feed.

Not a great deal is known about the new edition yet, so I have no idea if the gameworld or in-game history will be different.

Anything else, feel free to ask on here or any of the other options 8)

Actually I run a Dark Conspiracy inspired Monster of the Week one shot, set in the Swiss mountains last December.

I took some inspiration from the novel The Dog King - but with cell phones.

The retrotech is a crucial part of Dark Conspiracy for me, but the players who did not know the setting but their own spin on the world - and I had not the intention to play orthodoxstyle anyway.

But Switzerland was fun in the setting a nation between corporate / bank control in the cities and something like Demongrounds in the mountains.

Remember a balance of control and chaos. Perhaps using the EU to push the Megacorp agenda and weaken each countries laws for PC's to have some weapons, though this defies the IRL EU gun stance. The economies should erode the budgets and strength oh the authorities. Apply to a country and region you know well.
