Submissions for Halloween Special 2016
Greetings all,
this is to let you know we have decided that Protodimension issue 28 will be a Halloween Special. The first time we had a Halloween edition was also our 13th issue which got nominated for an ENnie award that year - maybe we can try again?
However, right now we are very low on submitted material and we would really love it if you good people would send in anything you might wish to share with the world. As a fan-created publication we really can't do it without you. Submissions do not have to be Halloween themed, but of course that would be highly cool!
Get creating and email the results to us at this address before October 24th:

Cheers!

I'm working on a Tales of Terror/Dark Conspiracy piece inspired by the Old Stinker sightings in East Yorkshire. I've relocated it a bit closer to home though.

Re: Submissions for Halloween Special 2016
I've finally been motivated to make my brain work at another contribution.
I'm hoping the first article will be available for the Halloween issue... yes, first article, I've finally found something that gives me cause to write more than one article for a submission.
My hazily conceived idea calls for about four or five articles, maybe more, with the idea of one article per issue in the same manner as Lee's Republic of Britain from the Demonground ezine.
Demonground... Is basically what my articles will be about, but a special demonground.
I'm blathering on a lot about this, but I'm a little hyped up that I've finally got the desire to write again for Protodimensions. So far I have about 5000 words written as I make this post and I'm expecting this first article to be about 15 to 20 thousand words.
Zvezda, I think you'll enjoy it, well, I hope you will
My submission will be titled "The Zone from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as Demonground."

Re: Submissions for Halloween Special 2016
And as a slight update, I just got permission from Ville Vuorela of Burger Games to reference parts of his STALKER the SciFi Roleplaying Game for my article.
If anyone was interested in a STALKER rpg that follows the novel that all the STALKER games (pen & paper or video game) are derived from rather than a fan's pen & paper version of the STALKER video games, I cannot recommend Ville's STALKER rpg highly enough. Ville's game is the only proper licensed adaptation of the STALKER theme and when I heard it was being released in English I was one of the people pestering Burger Games about it (originally it was only available in Finnish)
I also tracked down copies of their Taiga near-future, post-apocalyptic rpg, info for which can be found at this RPG Geek page (of which I was the contributor, so yeah, you could say I'm a bit of a fanboy for Burger Games in general!) https://rpggeek.com/rpg/17616/taiga
STALKER the SciFi Roleplaying Game can be purchased from DriveThruRPG and I believe hard copy can be bought through Lulu

Re: Submissions for Halloween Special 2016
Just submitted my article, it's a tad large at just under 33,000 words.
Lee, I mentioned in my submissions email you know where to find me if you need to discuss any of the article but also, we can chat on Skype if necessary.

Look forward to seeing it. Certainly puts my meagre efforts to shame.

Re: Submissions for Halloween Special 2016
Haha!
I had to stop myself from writing too much for this submission and keep the rest for later submissions
The Roadside Picnic/Stalker/S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and Zone themes are subjects that I enjoy very much so it was easy to write however I don't think following articles will necessarily be the same length. This one was a sort of general introduction & overview of the Zone to be used as a Demonground. There's a lot of info to cram in because being entirely selfish, I didn't want to break it into sections over two issues.
And after being absent from PD for quite some time, I figured I should come back with a Bang!

Well, I might have an interesting hook to introduce Momo into an adventure. Best write it up, switching from horror movies to Charlie Chan for this so I won't get another inspiration.Morthrai wrote:That's something we haven't had in ages, cryptid coverage.Phulish wrote:Cool!
