Can anyone recommend a software application suitable for drawing maps and plans. I'd like something that can create maps suitable for running modern day/sci-fi rpg combats on, ideally using a 1 inch or maybe 2cm grid. I'm currently using Shuffler but finding it a bit limited and not very reliable.
Thanks in advance.

Adnittedly I have only limited experience with a couple of mapping programs, but Autorealm is okay if a bit clunky (and not very intuitive). Campaign Cartographer was good but IMHO overpriced, but that was on someone else's machine. I have heard good things about Dundjinni and Mapmaker Pro but never used either myself.

Cheers mate, I'm going to give Dungeon Forge a go. It's free, and it's tile based which is what I'm after.
Just looking at the interface for AutoRealm gave me a headache.
