Protodimension Website Change

Post by Morthrai »

Greetings all,

just letting you know that the forum on the Protodimension website is now closed. This is due partly to the low level of activity there and also the high level of security attacks that were happening. The rest of the Protodimension website is unaffected by the change, so all the back issues are there to download and future issues will continue to be found there along with submission guidelines etc.

Next issue is under preparation as we speak :)

Cheers!
Lee Williams.

Sorry to hear that. We had some interesting discussions on that board, although I had noticed that activity had fallen off lately.

Good to hear the mag is still going strong. Hoping to send you something within the next few days...

It's a shame that (as far as I know) there is no real way to directly transfer discussions from one forum to another. Still, forward we go! :D

Yeah I'm with Linden on that. I was loading up the Protodimension forum site a few minutes ago and was so surprised at the shutdown, it took a few seconds to register.

Is it assuming too much that the threads have been archived for the moment but will be available again in some form (even if it's just as an archive record)?

I fear that we will always be too small a group to have a constant hive of activity at any forum, an unfortunate consequence of being fans of what is now a niche game :(

We don't do too badly on here all things considered, but like you say it is a niche game (and in a niche hobby at that). I can see it makes sense for most of the activity to be on one forum. I'm sure Marcus won't mind us starting the occasional discursive style non-DC Protodimension style thread here in the "Anything else" section.

To take your idea further Linden, perhaps we could start all Protodimension threads with Protodimension in the Subject line or something of that nature so that people will know where to look?

Marcus, many thanks for setting up a sub-forum!

However...all I see is the following message:
You do not have the required permissions to read topics within this forum. :(

Any idea what's gone wrong?

Ditto that, I'm sorry to say.
