Fonts from original game book
Does anybody know what font was used for the Dark Conspiracy title of the 1st edition book? It's also used for the main title for the firearms and vehicle cards.
I've been looking around sites on the net with font downloads but there are tens of thousands of the mongrel things and I'm sure that I'm going slightly insane from previewing them all.
Cheers, the somewhat insane

I wouldn't mind getting hold of these as well. I seem to recall the question coming up before and someone suggesting a suitable look alike font. Possibly it was in the demonground or dark conspiracy yahoo groups? Then again maybe I imagined it.ReHerakhte wrote:Does anybody know what font was used for the Dark Conspiracy title of the 1st edition book? If memory serves me well, the original font was called Architectura. However, the exact version used in DC1 was ever so slightly different with a couple of the letters being altered. Personally, having used Architectura for my home-brewed character sheets etc, not many people would know the difference!

Nice one mate. I think it can be downloaded here. You can see at least one of the differences in the sample text. As I recall Dark Conspiracy left the cross stroke out of the capital "A". Like you say though close enough as makes no difference.Morthrai wrote:If memory serves me well, the original font was called Architectura. Imagine my surprise to see that the font's author is one Allan Carr. Surely not the camp comedian? Innuendo laden humour and typography design, there's no end to his talents (and no beginning neither).

I have to admit I'm not a fan of his either, but yes it would be odd if it was himLinden wrote: Imagine my surprise to see that the font's author is one Allan Carr. Surely not the camp comedian? Innuendo laden humour and typography design, there's no end to his talents (and no beginning neither).

Awesome! Thanks Lee
There was a question about fonts once before that I recall in the Demonground forums. The reason I recall it is because I asked it! That question was about the font the Demonground team had used for the title of the same name. I have the font on my computer at home (I'm sneaking some time on the work comp before I have to start ) so I can't give you the name at the moment but I can do so if anyone wants to know. Just let me finish work first haha
Cheers,
Kevin
P.S. Thanks to Linden too for finding a download of the Architectura font. Apologies for forgetting to say this before.

Indeed the heading font was Architectura or Arquitectura (which has a heap more symbols - but costs) and the main body font was Korinna. I have official versions of both, which unfortunately I can't share.
The Heading font for DC 2.5 was called Goodbye Cruel World, although Mike did a great job sprucing that up. If anyone wants it, it's a freebie here - http://www.dafont.com/goodbye-cruel-world.font

Anyone know where to find the Architectura Font besides the Fontso site, which I cannot locate that font on it at all.
Thanks in advance.

Here -

I'll point out (as Lee mentioned earlier in this thread) that this isn't quite the font of DC, but it is very, very close...

Re: Fonts from original game book
It was a really good decision I think to use the (somewhat modified) Arcitectura font for DC. I don't mean to say that the font defined the game or anything but it definitely added to the visual feel - modern, angular, no flourishes, stark even. To get all 'deep & meaningful' , I think that works well in terms of what the game was about.
