Archiving the Forum
It is with a tinge of sadness that I'm moving the DCtRPG.info forum into an archived state. This is being done as the traffic on this forum has decreased to the point where the overhead on support is no longer worth the effort. While I have done some consolidation of sub-forums, rest assured all exi...

Re: Conspiracy X - Gaming and Writing
And now I've popped out an interview with Alex Jurkat - one of the founding fathers of Eden Studios. While we mostly discuss Conspiracy X, we also chat on most aspects of Eden's heyday as a leading Tabletop Game publisher. Read on right here - https://www.unboundbook.org/?p=18532

Re: Conspiracy X - Gaming and Writing
In the downtime - while this forum was closed - I've popped a few things up on my Conspiracy X site. The most interesting was No Good Deed NO GOOD DEED is an investigative scenario that will throw an unsuspecting AEGIS Cell into a race against time. From a seemingly straightforward police shooting t...

Re: AMARGOSA UPDATE December 2020
I always sort of knew that the Free League version of T:2000 wouldn't keep everyone happy - it is one of those games with so much history (as in gamer baggage and anecdotes) that it would be hard to follow up.
I thought it looked okay to me from a 'play it a few times' point of view,,,

Re: Conspiracy X - Gaming and Writing
Because I get to 'toot' my own horn... My initial plan/hope was to complete a review of a Con X book or supplement every month or so, but that didn't happen now did it? Oh well, can't cry over spilt milk now can I... so here's my review of Bodyguard of Lies, Issue 3 - Synergy . Enjoy and more are bo...

Re: Cthulhu Rising
Oh no, RoH is still available, but in its 'Refreshed' format - https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/281101/River-of-Heaven--Refreshed . Not much changed really, except a few added clarifications and some typos fixed. BTW, I've submitted a bit of material for RoH, and hope to see it published officia...

Re: Brainstorming for a new DarkCon campaign
I think you're absolutely right in wanting to your DC game a separate identity from Call of Cthulhu. The first campaign I ran I had some difficulty getting out of of the Cthulhoid mindset. I'd run old CoC scenarios from magazines with only minimal work, excising references to tomes, spells and insa...

Re: Updates to www.darkconspiracy.info
After reading the interview I did exactly what he mentioned, I went to his website and dropped a message into his inbox saying that I had read the interview you did with him and that I wanted to tell him how much I enjoyed DarkCon and was still playing it 30 years after it's release date. That migh...

Re: Dark Conspiracy's influence in RPGs
These weren't big companies known for their RPGs (although I believe Dynasty Presentations was creating or managing online games at the time) re: DPI - Not really - it was more of Ken W leveraging off of his connections in the industry (having previously worked at TSR)... it was a very 'fly by nigh...

Dark Conspiracy's influence in RPGs
It always amazes me that despite being 30 years old (and having only one really far-reaching edition), that Dark Conspiracy has such a far reaching influence. As an example Chris Pramas (head of Green Ronin) posted this today (as part of his ongoing series of reflecting on RPGs)... Today's game is D...

Re: Updates to www.darkconspiracy.info
That's a bit of a coup Marcus, quite comprehensive. There's a lot of detail in that interview that I don't think I've read anywhere else. Thanks! I really enjoyed the experience. Lester is a great guy and so friendly - I'm not sure he knows how much his work and writing influenced the likes of myse...
