Spiders hunt children

Venomus spiders size control over a school in Gloucestershire. No spokesrat of England's notorius Super Rats had been available for comment.

This was on the radio last night. The Forest of Dean is about half an hours drive from where I live, although I rarely visit. Even less likely to now.

In Russia people used to say: "If you’re afraid of wolves, don’t go to the woods." It seems that the same is true in England, the difference is that it is spiders who lurk between the trees.

Mostly inhabited by sheep but it has got a bit of a Mirkwood vibe, more than a touch of Ramsey Campbell's Goatswood as well.
