I have no idea where to put it so I put it here. Now that the Forum is that large I think it would be not to bad if we have a working search button.

That does make a lot of sense. If I were a forum admin I would have stuck one in already 8)

Good call - I will have to upgrade the forum software and things might change... so bear with me...

G'Day Marcus, would this upgrade be able to fix the problem with searching for the posts made by a member? Whenever you use the "Find all posts by X", you get the same error message as when you use the "Search" fucntion so I figure it's all part of the same problem.

Yep - it would probably change the look and feel of the site as well as profiles (we are using a really, really old version of the forum software).

My other concern is that the anti-spam addons would stop working.

But I'm willing to give it a go :P

Just an update...

Looks like there is no easy fix for our search issue... the version of the software being used is too old to upgrade easily, and I'm concerned (after consulting various techies that we could lose everything here.

My suggestion while I look for more permanent answer is to use the advance search function in google (the Search within a site or domain: option) over this site - http://www.darkconspiracytherpg.info/forums.

Sorry I can't be of more immediate help...

Brilliant! The easeiest solutions are the best. I have not even thought about that. Brilliant! Thanks again Marcus, it just works perfect. Great.

I'll add to Zvezda's praise for that solution, I generally don't look at the advanced options on Google search because I never thought I needed them. I wasn't even aware that there was a "search within a site or domain" function until now!
