Just been reading up on Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI and fMRI respectively - MRI measures radio waves given off by the hydrogen atoms in your flesh, fMRI measures blood flow) and how these patterns are produced by various emotional/thought states.
That's all fine and well except now advertisers are seeing the "benefit" of using these patterns to predict your liking/disliking for various products and the tech is getting smaller so they may be able to conduct tests without you having to lie down in a giant machine at a hospital...
I'll update this when I've got some more info, still reading the article at the moment.
