As things stand, the core rulebooks will only have careers that relate to the US, though of course they can be applied to other nations where similar careers exist. You might have to make up some house rules if you need something specific to a certain nation.

Exactly! :D That is how the Republic of Britain came to be in the first place, just messin' around with ideas.

Which still is a very interesting setting...even though I must admit that the first thing I thought about Scottish Independance was: "Maybe he has pushed it a bit too far..." Well...

Indeed there is :) Of course those would have to wait until we see how well the new edition goes, but at the least I'd definitely be interested in a gazetteer style sourcebook, if not fully detailed books on different nations.

(For those who may not know the word, a gazetteer was originally a kind of traveller's companion for other nations. The 'Rough Guide' series of books is a modern example.)

That's good, chatting about DC and improving English at the same time. Will the Scots really hold a referendum in 2010 about spliting from the UK?

I'm not sure. The SNP doesn't have an overall majority in the Scottish assembly. I think they're going to be a bit limited in what they can do, unless they can obtain support from the other parties, most of whom are committed to the union. Their co-operation might be dependent on the SNP soft pedalling the Scottish independence line. At present Labour, the next biggest party aren't talking to the SNP, and Gordon Brown, our primeminister in waiting, throws a major hissy fit whenever someone mentions the nationlists. That may change, the dictates of Realpolitik may force Labour to co-operate with the SNP. Then again, given Brown's huge capacity for bearing grudges it might not. In any event I think there's going to be interesting times ahead for Scotland.

It is strange how reality sometimes overtakes fiction. I hope there will be some more information on Scotlant in the next DC publication. Are there any plans to re-launch Demonground?

How to make a deep fried Mars Bar for instance?

I suspect the answer to that lies in hands other than TGC.

As usual we are going way off topic, but I must admit the thougth of deep fried Mars(TM) bars is way more gruesome than that of Nessy(TM)!

I guess the best thing to do would be to ask my old friend Mike Marchi, he's been in charge since Marcus left Demonground to do other things (The Unbound Book, a Call Of Cthulhu ezine and now Dark Conspiracy) :)
I'm not part of DG any more so I have no idea about what might happen with the zine.

Having it on and working again would probaly be a very good advertising. It was a very nice thing when it was alive. I think new players would really enjoy it.

Agreed!

I always have felt very honoured to have been a part of Demonground, and I guess I always will feel that way :)
