Conspiracy X - Gaming and Writing

Post by Marcus Bone »

Hi All,

Just wanted everyone to know that I've recently started a blog to support Conspiracy X, and to kick it it off I've interview Dave Chapman (the author of Con X 20.0). You can find it here - http://conspiracyxrpg.blogspot.com/

Much like DCtRPG here, I'll be updating it with a new bit of content every month!

Just pulling 'rank' again (I suppose a privilege of running the site)... I've put up a Con X scenario - along with most of the good stuff from that aborted attempt at a blog - over at the DCtRPG.info sister site, unboundbook.org.

You can get the idea here - http://www.unboundbook.org/?p=1062...

The scenario looks very professionally done Marcus. I don't play Conspiracy X but I'd probably find a way to work it into a Dark Conspiracy or Delta Green campaign.

Thanks Linden...

You know I probably enjoy the layout/design bits of game creation as much as I do the actual writing. If I had any skill, maybe I should have been a graphic designer (in fact good graphic designers - especially in the RPG world do intrigue me - John Harper, Thomas Deeney, etc.)

Been a while but I've finally completed Collection Schedule - a Intro style scenario for Conspiracy X. Designed to be played in less than a couple of hours, it comes complete with 3 Pre-Generated Characters...

You can grab it here http://www.unboundbook.org/?p=1301

As always comments and feedback is appreciated!

Forgot to post this here - but a few weeks back I did a review for a Conspiracy X supplement which is now posted up on RPGGEEK - https://rpggeek.com/thread/2449655/jell ... ogy-dossie.

I used to like the monsters of the week episodes of the X-Files. As i've said before I always found them and the Silence of the Lambs inspired behavioural science stuff much more fun than the rather banal UFO story arc.

I'd certainly consider getting this based on your review, especially as it seems readily adaptable to other games.

PS have just given Collection Schedule a read. I like how it's got the potential to have a range of moods from A Comedy of Errors to a full blown firefight, or maybe something in between. I'm planning a Delta Green campaign at the moment and am very tempted to use this as the first scenario.

I'm a bit the opposite. I started out preferring the 'MotW' stuff but later moved to really appreciate the Mythology episodes more (well the first 4 seasons which were, I feel, the first arc).

Cheers! Yes the scenario - like all my Con X stuff - is very much about tragedy and consequences. At least that's what is in my mind when I write it. Hope you enjoy running it - if you use it - and I'm happy to get any feedback!

Because I get to 'toot' my own horn...

My initial plan/hope was to complete a review of a Con X book or supplement every month or so, but that didn't happen now did it?

Oh well, can't cry over spilt milk now can I... so here's my review of Bodyguard of Lies, Issue 3 - Synergy. Enjoy and more are bound to follow! https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/254591 ... e/36338805

In the downtime - while this forum was closed - I've popped a few things up on my Conspiracy X site. The most interesting was No Good Deed
NO GOOD DEED is an investigative scenario that will throw an unsuspecting AEGIS Cell into a race against time. From a seemingly straightforward police shooting through to experiments with Saurian DNA, as the old saying goes ‘no good deed ever goes unpunished’.

And now I've popped out an interview with Alex Jurkat - one of the founding fathers of Eden Studios. While we mostly discuss Conspiracy X, we also chat on most aspects of Eden's heyday as a leading Tabletop Game publisher. Read on right here - https://www.unboundbook.org/?p=18532
