Dumpster for a house?

Post by Marcus Bone »

Is this an opportunity for companies to house their Proles? In fact this dumpster home reminds me a lot of the container homes mentioned in Stackpole's DC trilogy (book one I think?)

I seem to remember reading a while back that one of the Scandinavian countries housed its "problem families" in container units. Corporations might do the same for proles in DC world?

Shipping containers have been converted for use by the military as short-term housing and storage in remote locations and they are also in use for longer term housing for foreign workers in places like Saudi Arabia. So in regards to using them as homes for Proles, we are already half-way there.

Here's some links to various websites showing shipping container buildings. Lots of them are "trendy" modern style housing but it shows that the potential is only limited by the imagination.

And some articles about using shipping containers.
