Nothing will be the same. This isn’t the age of your parent's free love or even your childhood of free thought; this is a nightmare that everyone believed would never come to pass.
In a world driven by greed and influence, mankind has become slave to deception and desire. A place where the rights of government, and those aligned to it, far outweighs the needs of the individual or the common good.
America is no longer the home of the free and the brave, but simply a dark reflection of its own once great ideals. Today, federal agencies stand watchdog over its citizens, dictating what is right and wrong, while they themselves seek to bend and break the very regulations that created them. The military, as splintered and disparate as ever, continues to grow in size and power, exploiting threats to the nation, both perceived and real, to its own ends. And politicians rise and fall as simple Americans attempt to exercise their last inalienable right - their vote.
Aboard hundreds of thousands of soldiers fight, each and every one of them vital in ensuring that the America seizes control of as much of the world’s dwindling resources as it possibly can. Every continent stands witness to bush wars and rebellion, as oil, food, and water become increasingly scarce commodities. And despite this ever growing cycle of violence and dangers the youth of the country continues to enlist – the armed forces seen as the last and best safety blanket of support, education and future.
America has rapidly changed. Where once it presented an oxymoronic approach to freedoms (one in which legal restrictions increased, while civil and moral standards lapsed), it now treats all liberties as unwanted distractions. Corporations still exist, but only those ‘sponsored’ by the government prosper. Here a new world of corruption and conflict has emerged, with great businesses fighting for favour, and resources. Where once industry dictated, the administration now commands!
And at the bottom of the pile the men and women of America, the white and blue collars, continue to survive – if only just. For them life has reverted to a ‘simpler’ time, one where choice is now a luxury. A new age where one consumes what the government allows you, from the news you watch and read, through the food you eat and water you drink, to the knowledge and education you receive. There is no other option. People no longer travel, especially not for pleasure, and the world as most know it continues to shrink.
Yet there are those who refuse to yield to such a fate; those who know that the system is corrupt and have begun to fight back against the forces that hold hard working America down. They are called terrorists by some, criminals by others, and yet they know they are freedom fighters. Something is sick in America, an illness that extends further and further each and every day, and they will fight to discover it source. They are survivors and heroes who will, and must, battle on until a new FUTURE DAWNS.
