Well this example shows how far security imaging has come and shows how difficult it can be to try and smuggle anything past the machines but because it is so damned effective, it's also becoming incredibly controversial.

And yes, it can show every unflattering inch of you and from what I recall from earlier articles, the resolution of the scanner was actually turned down somewhat so that the images weren't as sharp/clear!
