Here are the rules for our first PbP campaign:

Character Creation
Character creation is performed as stated in the Rules. The only additions are the inclusion of the Cybernetics rules from Demonground Issue 15, pg 76-93. This includes the new careers mentioned therein. The following items from that article are not permitted: Nano-Jack, Empathic Computer Interface, Cyberhead, Implanted Stunner, More than two levels of Subdermal Thoracic Plates, Ovulation Controller, Contraception Implant, Nanomite Blood Clotting System, Empathy Booster, everything on the Skin Enhancements list.

It is recommended that you use this character sheet when making your character. It also includes an adjusted equipment list with campaign specific price adjustments.

Players starting as Proles or Gnomes are considered to shift to the Mike social class if they serve two or more terms in a Mike only career.

Starting Intiative: if no military careers are served - 1D6/2, otherwise 1D6-1.

Any questions or odd character concepts should be run by the GM via PM or post in the OOC thread

Character Development
At the end of each "adventure" each player will be rewarded a number of experience points, determined by the GM. Any characters whom are not Initiative 6 will gain one fractional point on their Initiative. Once these fractional points equal the current initiative level, that character's Initiative advances one level, and the fractional points reset to 0.
Characters may spend experience points to advance skills they already have as normal (1:1, unless the skill is higher than the stat, then 2:1, empathy skills cost double). Learning new skills may be done one of three ways: Observation, Instruction, Self-taught. Observation and Instruction work as described in the book. Self-taught (which applies to all empathic abilities by default) is accomplished by succeeding at both a Difficult test in the controlling attribute of the skill, and a Difficult test in Education. Self teaching takes 12-EDU (12-EMP for empathy skills) hours per day for one week.

Timeline
2009 - Numerous economic stimulus efforts are instituted by the US government, but none produce significant events. North Korea announces withdrawal from the global community and all regular communications in and out of the country are cut. A coalition of Shi'a and Sunni clerics begin concentrated military actions in the Middle East, with a stated goal of driving all outside military influence from the region.

2010 - Highest death toll for US and European militaries in the Middle East ever recorded reached in February. Congress finalizes a withdrawal plan, in conjunction with the European Union Military commanders, to remove all troops from the Middle East by 2015. Islamic extremists in the region express outrage at the slowness of this plan, and threaten to take action. The Islamic Coalition denounces these extremists. Troop withdrawals begin in earnest late in the year.

2011-12 - Despite numerous guerilla attacks throughout the early part of the year all European troops and roughly 40% of the US troops are withdrawn from the Middle East. In November of '11 over twenty five bombings, including two suitcase nukes (Brussels and St. Louis), are detonated around the world. Numerous extremist groups attempt to claim credit from some of the bombs, but intense world-wide investigation reveals that three groups, two Islamic extremist groups and one US militia group, are found to be primarily responsible. The world sees one of the most intensive man-hunts in history as the combined police forces of the world work together to track down the members of these groups. By the close of 2012, the first evidence linking North Korea as the supplier of most of the bomb components is discovered. Also in 2012 a bill allowing multinational corporations extra-national status is introduced by various lobbying groups in most countries across the globe. Some readily pass the bill, while it stalls in most of the industrialized nations. In the US the bill dies in committee.

2013 - A video is leaked anonymously to the web showing several top North Korean officials meeting with representatives of the actual terrorists. In the uproar that results when the video is verified to be authentic, a mysterious radioactive explosion is noted to engulf a large portion of the Hamgyong-nam province of North Korea. It has been noted that this explosion was much larger than anything believed to be capable of being produced by North Korea. Within hours of this detonation, scores of missiles erupt from hidden bunkers all over the country, heavily targeting Japan, South Korea, and Western China, although a few have a long enough range to target seemingly random areas as far away as Yakutsk in Russia and Northern Malaysia. Most of these launches do not appear to be nuclear in nature, but they are loaded with tons of concentrated nuclear waste, rendering much of the areas over which they explode hazardous even today. This suddenly and apparently unprovoked attack both devastated the economy and lives of most of the Eastern Asian countries. This sudden loss put an unbearable strain on the economies of the industrialized nations that had come to rely so heavily of those countries for goods and services. Recessions and depressions sweep the globe as the various countries struggle to keep their markets viable.

2014 - World-wide unemployment levels are on the rise through-out the year. Stop-gap measures rushed into place in the industrialized nations help stem the tide through the early part of the year, although unemployment rates hit 17.3% in the US by September. Two bills are introduced under the guise of stimulating multi-national corporations to invest more within the country. The first is the reintroduction of the Multinational Exemption Guarantor Act of 2012. Backed by strong promises from most of the major multinationals to build new facilities in the US, this measure quickly passed through both houses and was signed into law in later October. The second bill labeled the Voter's Right Act, which abolished the electoral college and gave citizen's the right to assign a proxy to cast their vote, passed with a narrow margin through the House, but it appeared that Sen. Halworth (D-CO) had begun to rally enough support to stop it in the Senate. Mere weeks before the issue was to come to a vote, Senator Halworth, along with 3 aides, 2 bodyguards, his wife, and two children, vanished from his home one night. Despite an exhaustive search by both the FBI and Secret Service, not trace of them is ever found. Without Halworth's influence to forstall it, the VRA barely scraped by, and was signed into law as the President's last official act before leaving office.

2015 - All national militaries begin a major withdrawal of troops from outlying posts. Several radical Isolationist politicians achieved dominance in their respective countries as the effects of severe repressions begin to take effect across the globe. Many of the destitute and lower-class begin exercising their new rights granted by the VRA to sell their votes to corporate proxies. The standard contract becomes room and board at corporate sponsored neighborhoods, which quickly become labeled as Proletowns. These areas quickly become overcrowded, but the MEGA-corporations who control the towns use their new political clout to dissuade any real outcry or action from taking place to remedy the situation.
