Old bodies refreshed with young blood?

Post by ReHerakhte »

Apparently a study at the Stanford School of Medicine has discovered that transfusing the blood plasma from a younger or older mouse can bring about changes in the recipient. It's claimed that a young mouse receiving an older mouse's blood will undergo negative changes of the brain associated with aging.

Conversely, it's claimed that an older mouse receiving a younger mouse's blood starts to undergo some production of new nerve cells in the brain. The benefit of the study was that it revealed new information about the aging process and it's believed that this understanding could help to slow the onset of Alzheimer's Disease.
