Future foods

Post by ReHerakhte »

Together these two articles are quite long but worth reading because of the possibilities for foods in DC.

The first may indeed be referencing a parody site but it does draw attention to the ethics of and attitudes to, lab-produced foodstuffs. But it's the DC potential for meats made from rare/exotic/endangered/extinct species for the Gnomes to dine upon - do you fancy your Tuscan Meatballs made from Siberian mammoth? Or perhaps you'd prefer white rhinoceros meat to be used? How about koala meat? Of course, no animals were harmed in the making of your steak so you can chow down and be completely guilt free.

The second uses a controversial name to promote what is supposedly a total replacement for traditional foodstuffs as in, all you need to consume is Soylent. This has great potential for DC, I can well imagine corporate welfare recipients being feed this for most of their nutrition with a few hard biscuits and maybe some dried fruit pieces to satisfy the body's desire to actually chew something.

Thanks for posting they are both worth reading. I also like the cannibal aspect of the first one. Together they also bring out the differences between gnomes and proles very good. They really have a lot of DC potential.
