I like the idea of fleshing out myths and legends. On the other hand I wouldn't like to see huge amounts of creatures as was the case with D&D and its sundry monster manuals and fiend folios. These seem predicated on the assumption that a game only stays interesting if the players have new (and...

Hopefully I will be attending Continuum 2006 in July here in the UK and a few flyers here and there would be a good thing. Considering that the con will be attended by several 'names' including Sandy Petersen and Charlie Krank, there will be many horror gamers in attendance :D I will also be at Drag...

For my next recommendation, I give you Crossworlds. Another low-ish budget flick with Rutger Hauer, but it has everything you need to know about dimensional travel. It also has a semi-decent cast including Stuart Wilson, Jack Black and Andrea Roth 8)

I also have an Excel worksheet full of weapons, well three sheets in fact :) One for small arms, one for heavy weapons and one full of melee weapons. I'm bringing those with me to DCtRPG 8)

OK, for those who might be interested I have been in touch with Chris and he has promised to dig out the old DC-IMDB files with a view to either he or I reposting them somewhere on teh intarwebb 8) Newcomers will be able to gasp in awe at the sheer arrogance of a bunch of gamers passing themselves o...

Oh, Split Secondis a long way from being one of the best movies ever made  But it does have the basics that make Dark Conspiracy what it is, and it's the original inspiration for my old Republic of Britain stuff in Demonground.

Inspirational Movies and TV for Dark Conspiracy

In the spirit of Chris Carpenter's old Dark Conspiracy Internet Movie Database (now long gone sadly), I thought we should start recommending movies and TV that can and have inspired DC gaming ideas. Maybe we could even start a new version of the DCIMDB if there's enough interest? 8) Anyway, the firs...

One of the many reasons I liked the second season of the 'War of the Worlds' TV show was the little details they put in there, one of which was the payphones. The handset was attached to the side of the phone by a hefty metal arm which held the mouthpiece at face level. I think that was to stop the ...

True enough, probably best to use general descriptions. However, what about saddling the characters with retro style "brick" phones as well? Now this idea I like  Of course, I do sometimes enjoy using props in game sessions so digging out my ancient Ericsson 'Don't drop it on your fo...

Well, I'm going to carry on namedropping about the new edition of DC :D

As for Demonground, well, I suppose you'd need to contact Mike. He's the main man (plus I have no internet at home at the moment so that makes things tricky for me to say the least :( )

The game MUST be playable with one book! Agreed 100%. Everything to play a session has to be in the core rulebook. No one should ever repeat the mistake of giving real life stats for computers! Never ever again! I think that's something that was kind of a habit in GDW's roleplaying game history. I ...

If you want to hear them, I will compose an email to the dev team with my ideas in detail. I haven't forgotten about this :) I will get the email done and sent to the guys when I get a moment spare, I've finally got myself a bit of work and have also been 'volunteered' to make up a website for my l...

I think the stronger approach than selling single adventures is something similar to the Tales of Terror (I think that was what it was called) supplements for CoC. Six to eight small open framework adventures with notes on how they could interconnect if desired, but can still be run independantly i...

I'm gonna sign up for playtesting, then I can push the new edition like mad at Continuum and Dragonmeet this year :D
