New From Lester Smith

Dark Conspiracy's original creator Lester Smith would like to let you lovely people know that his latest creation is now available. Here's the lowdown from the man himself 😎 --- For a good 20 years, the D13 RPG has been back-burnered & bucket-listed. Thanks to some faithful fans & patient cr...

Re: Inspirational Movies and TV for Dark Conspiracy

Another non-DC movie from New Zealand that I recall was Goodbye Pork Pie . A mate of mine who has since passed away mentioned it once, and it turned out that from our mutual peer group only us two had ever heard of it! As for Peter Jackson, the first stuff of his that I saw were his short films like...

Re: Inspirational Movies and TV for Dark Conspiracy

These films used to turn up randomly on the BBC when I was a young'un. Remember I couldn't find "The Odd Angry Shot" anywhere but you sent me a copy because it was only a couple of dollars? First time I saw that was in a short series of Aussie movies they put on :)

Re: Inspirational Movies and TV for Dark Conspiracy

Several Aussie movies factor into my DC world view even if I've never actually used the ideas in a game, and The Cars That Ate Paris is definitely one. Others include the first two Mad Maxes, Razorback, and Long Weekend. I also have a vague memory of an Aussie film about illegal nuclear waste dumpin...

Re: Inspirational Movies and TV for Dark Conspiracy

I think I had Split Second on VHS tape sometime in the distant past and at times I'd even considered buying digital streaming versions but couldn't find any. All in all, I'd prefer to have a physical copy so if a DVD is in going to be available, I'm quite happy! Oddly enough my standard DVD copy, w...

Re: Inspirational Movies and TV for Dark Conspiracy

Obviously I don't ned to tell those here assembled that 1992's "Split Second" is pretty much first edition Dark Conspiracy in movie form. Well, just found out today that someone has finally put together a luxury edition BluRay version with tons of extras - it must be mine! 😎 https://www.ho...

Re: Another GDW line gets revived

Ironically enough, I think the Year Zero rules might have been a better fit for Dark Conspiracy because DarkCon has room for the faster, cinematic style that those rules create, although I am still very much not keen on the use of gimmick dice to aid gameplay. As I understand it, one of the things ...

Another GDW line gets revived

Well, it looks like Angus and Amargosa are going to be even busier in the near future with another of GDW's old lines 😎 Your suspicions are confirmed Kevin!

Re: Let's Write a Dark Conspiracy adventure...

Kevin's mention of red herrings reminds me of the so-called "Smiley Face Murders" - deaths which seem similar but under investigation appear to be unrelated, and not even murders. Might be an element to add?

Interview With a Marcus...

So Marcus recently had a chat with Saul & Jolene of the Gaming Perspectives podcast. I should have been on there too but wasn't feeling 100% on the day so I think they'll be getting back to me at some future point 8)

Re: Inspirational Movies and TV for Dark Conspiracy

Ah the movie database 8) I still have most of the original website files and many reviews. I posted a bunch of them in a thread on here but maybe we could resurrect the DCMDB in some form? Marcus?

Re: OFFICIAL DC4 ANNOUNCEMENT

There's material on his site that dates back to the early 2000s and there are a few names that some folks might recognize such as Eyal (can't recall his last name) who submitted material to Demonground way back when. That would be Eyal Feingersch over in Israel. He's done the married with kids &...
