Speaking of strange rilfes...has any one of you made rules for the AN-94 'Abakan'? I think when I tried to detail it a while ago I decided to up the damage to 5 with that 2-shot extremely high ROF, as the bullets are so very close together I reckoned if one hits then the other will as well :twisted...

Erm... Very red-faced here, as I checked up on that alternative Initiative system and it wasn't in OBMRU after all, but it is in Demonground Issue 6 which is freely downloadable from here . You'd think I would be able to remember something like that after all that time I spent as an editor of...

Kerr also wrote 'Gridiron' about a state of the art skyscraper run by an artificial intelligence that starts to evolve in a rather Old Testament manner

Should it stay or should it go?

In other words...

would you prefer it if we kept the Heckler & Koch G-11 in the new core rulebook? Bearing in mind that we can always put it in a future sourcebook or supplement anyway, of course 8)

Ah yes, once again the Initiative issue raises its ugly head :? There have been several attempts to resolve the 'Bad guys on 6' thing over the years. The guy who introduced me to DC in the first place decided to totally drop the combat system and has used the Cyberpunk 2020 system ever since. A litt...

I'm mindful of your observation (made in relation to the Land Rover Halftrack from Demonground) that retro, or just plain odd, hardware fits the mood of the DC universe. Would this be sufficient reason for retaining the G11 perhaps? I suppose the ammo might be hard to come by in the poverty stricke...

To answer a couple of points raised by Zvezda: I haven't done anything about different ammo types yet for the core book. However, there may be a supplement in future dealing with more weapons and that might be the place to put it. Right now we are concentrating on getting the corebook done 8) Second...

None of the above. Our GM did a fine job of running a couple of Michael LaBossiere adventures from Challenge. I always thought that Doctor LaB's adventures were pretty good as well, and if memory serves I believe Marcus is also a fan of his work. I ran 'The Thing on the Bike Path' as an intro adven...

Antti, I had forgotten about him :D

Next time it'll be a S&W 627 and a Remington 870 pump action!

Hehe, so parties of Minion Hunters tend to make a lot of noise during gunfights then? ;)

Hmm, given that I am currently doing stuff for the new corebook I am kind of up to my neck in gun stats at the moment! 8) However, as we are limiting our choices to more mundane starter kit I would probably choose the following: Sidearm - Smith and Wesson M29 .44 Magnum. Longarm - Winchester 1894 (o...

Re: Comics

I guess all of the Strange Killings series and Helllblazer are best suited for the modern day horror thing. But DC is more than that... Indeed it is, but I always wanted to try to stat John Constantine for use as an NPC. However, it proved to be very tricky as his 'talents' don't precisely match an...

Just trying to remember off the top of my head what the main inspirations for my old Republic of Britain articles were. I'm adding a couple of others too. Novels Mindstar Rising by Peter F Hamilton (psychically enhanced ex-soldier works in corporate security in a post global warming Britain) Roofwor...

Going back to the reliability issue, I recall a TV documentary I saw here in the UK a few years back that showed the work of the South African Police's most elite unit (example; these guys are the only police in the world who HAVE to be qualified skydivers!). Anyhoo, they were called in to disarm a ...

All I can say at this stage is that the weapons listings will be 'cleaned up' from the old editions, with some things staying, some going and a few new additions too 8) As for the suggestion of putting more Russian and Eastern European weapons into the mix, my personal thought is that in a future wi...
