Just made a large post about the various skills and how that can be used in the FRPG. We have one very regular player at this point, and we are still looking for more. Come play, the game progresses at your pace, so you don't have to worry about falling behind. There is a minion waiting for you, and...

I've participated and ran both combat-heavy and investigation-heavy games. Personally I prefer to change it up depending on what that particular story calls for.

That would be pretty cool. A DC MUD wouldn't be too overly complex, but it would lack the graphical element I think Braxen is looking for. Hmmm. Yet another programming project on my stack of "Projects I will get to after I win the Lottery and don't ahve to work anymore."

I'm sure any kind of updates you care to throw our way, whether by text, audio, video, or smoke signal, will be eagerly devoured.

If you guys feel like making an audio file to let us know what is going on and what progress has been made please do so.

We had an incident where the group, along with one relatively new player, were meeting with the leader of a large and well organized gang to arrange the exchange of some information. The meeting quickly devolved into a firefight in the large, well lit parking garage that it had been arranged in. The...

The closest thing I've ever had in one of my campaigns was kind of an interdimensional support network of other minion hunters from various realities and proto-dimensions. They aren't frequent, but my PCs have made use of the occasional safe house or equipment cache.

We typically don't use the knockdown rules, although I would think (especially with a revamped hit location table to de-emphasize the legs) that just restricting knockdown checks to all leg wounds and upper body wounds that cause a shift in damage category. We haven't really ever had a problem with ...

That's where I got my copy of Cast a Deadly Spell from. I think they have Witch Hunt as well.

It's almost impossible to find, but another good flick is Cast a Deadly Spell . The setting is more film noir, and there is an unbelievable amount of Cthulhu influence (The main character is a private eye named H. Phillips Lovecraft) but it's still a pretty fun little movie with the hero fighting mo...

Ah, Aftermath. What a great game idea, even if the execution was not what it could have been.

For me, I had a program for my TI-85 that randomly generated stats as needed for NPCs and calculated their hit locations as a PC. The minor cannon fodder I wouldn't bother with as much. They have a fixed total and headshots count double towards it.

The crit tables are an interesting idea. Care to share? I don't think that the game is short on skills as it is. Really the only advantage that I see to having bunches of subskills, cascades I mean, is to slow character advancement. If that's your goal, just give out fewer points per game. I just do...

I would have to disagree with the statement that Sorcerers have no offensive teeth. With some clever application the Change Environment ability allows the user to simulate Fireballs, lightning bolts, fog, ice storms, reversed gravity fields, etc. The only real limit is the skill level of the user an...

I like those minions that do not receive alot of coverage, such as the Pale, Ifrits, cobra People, and the like. The main reason I do this is to keep my players guessing. Since most of them have glanced over the Minion section of the books, and read about the published modules, they are fairly famil...
