Even though I think that a good Boy’s Anti-Tank Rifle or a portable 08/15 MG can make a difference, even in CoC. Don't know a huge amount about guns but I do know the Boyes ATR wasn't much use against German tanks. I'd be even less inclined to use it against a CoC/DC nasty. Have you seen the WWII C...

Unfortunatly we can't fight in here...it is the War Room... Classic (Dr Strangelove?). Nothing wrong with having a civilized discussion though, compare and contrast, that sort of thing: I've always been a fan of CoC despite its flaws. I don't think anyone could mistake the SAN system for anything l...

Speaking of strange rilfes...has any one of you made rules for the AN-94 'Abakan'? This bloke again: http://www.pmulcahy.com/assault_rifles/russian_assault_rifles.htm Scroll about three quarters down the page and there it is. It does occur to me that the double fire action isn't well simulated by t...

Secondly, I have to admit that I am considering 'losing' the G-11, but there are other options (both real-life and semi-fictional!) that will almost certainly be in the corebook. Lee I'm mindful of your observation (made in relation to the Land Rover Halftrack from Demonground) that retro, or just ...

None of the above. Our GM did a fine job of running a couple of Michael LaBossiere adventures from Challenge. Possible Spoilers Last Stop was really horrific. Exploring the aliens' lair/lab particularly so. GM substituted human ETs for the Type II insectoids invented by the author, which were arguab...

My DC character went for a no frills combination of Browning HP35 pistol and M16 rifle. Seemed to do the job. 9mm not much good against armoured targets though. Think this tends to be the case in real life, but DC overstates it somewhat? The game I played in was set in the US so there wasn't too muc...

State of Mind by John Katzenbach: Serial killer thriller set in a near future US very similar to that of Dark Conspiracy. Plenty of info on it here:

Already mentioned this one to Lee but... Trajectories by Julian Rathbone. Set in rural southern Britain in 2035. It's a bit too loosely plotted and some of the satire is rather heavy handed but contains quite a few DC elements: 1. Countryside overrun by GM plants. 2. Elite nomen class living in gate...

That bookkeeping thing is a good point! I don't like it either. But there are players who just love to buy consumer goods. Especially old cyberpunker. As anthraxus stated earlier, the problem are not the prices but the ballance of the prices. Fule for example could be somewhat more expensive if tha...

While the Greater Depression could cause deflation that would escalate prices, I can see no logical order of events that would cause a early 90's era cellphone to cost $800. Especially when, given the current economic environment you can get a similar or more advanced phone for free. I was proceedi...

Not necessarily. Possibly the Greater Depression has seen large amounts of deflation in the world's economies, as experienced by Japan until quite recently.Zvezda wrote:YES! That is a good point by the way, the prices need to be reworked somehow. That should also be consicerd with the new DC edition.

I just read an article about good old Venzula buying a bunch of AK-103s from Russia. It would be good to have stats for the whole series of AK weapons for DC. I know there are copies of Fire, Fusion, and Steel laying around to calculate the data from. Looks like this chap has already done the work ...
