Re: Brand-new Old-school DC sourcebook now out!

Thanks for working on this! I don't have my copy in front of me but I think my only comments on changes are IIRC the formatting seemed a bit off. Not the normal two columns in most RPG books. qstor, that is my biggest regret with the book as well. We went with a typesetter who was trying his best, ...

Re: Brand-new Old-school DC sourcebook now out!

For anyone who has purchased Tampete, I welcome and encourage them to print copies for their own personal use. I've always felt that should go without saying if you purchase a PDF but unfortunately that isn't the case. In any event, for Tampete, it is. Enjoy. If any of you run across a fussy printer...

Lee, yours will be on the house. Obviously.

Just give me a few (ie. a WHILE) to sort out details of what/where/when, etc...

None of you guys has made a publishing & printing proto-dimension yet? Slackers. Slackers one and all.

Re: Brand-new Old-school DC sourcebook now out!

Hey there, This is Scott McClenaghan. Alex Williamson and I wrote most of the book you guys were discussing above with a TON of help from a lot of the people in the Dark Conspiracy facebook groups and in this forum. Guys, THANK YOU both for the time you spent looking at this, the cash you dropped on...

Re: Inspirational Music for Dark Conspiracy

I don't expect my Dark Conspiracy play list to be extremely popular with the rest of you, but I play it whenever I write anything for the game. Foo Fighters - Down in the Park Matrix Reloaded - various tunes Rush (Tom Sawyer, Subdivisions, The Analog Kid, Dreamline, Distant Early Warning, Force Ten,...

Re: A Question a Day #6 - Name One Rule to be Changed

Initiative was a major change in our house rules as well. Military had 1d6. Non-military had 1d4. That number equated to a # of d6 rolled during combat. PCs then acted on their initiative and every positive initiative after subtracting 10. (So an ex-military with an initiative of 5 for example, roll...

Re: A Question a Day #5 - Careers and Character Generation?

I got sick of seeing Navy Seal show up in all of my min-maxxed PCs. As a player, I preferred Bounty Hunter or Private Detective. Tampete has some fun ones which we found to be worth a play as well. Ballast Point Butcher gangers come to mind, as there's a chance you might die during your first term a...

Re: A Question a Day #3 - What does DC need more of?

Two comments. 1. Yes, a sourcebook for space for DC would be phenomenal. A few new ET races, some Terran bases as well as some ET and dominated ET bases/ships. And an indication of where some of them came from. That said, then space combat and navigation rules would be required and I guess Traveller...

Re: A Question a Day #2 - Notable Supporting Products

So while they no longer exist, I'd like to shine a spotlight on the Dark Conspiracy news group frequented by Norm Fenlason and others while Demonground was still being supported in the mid to late 90s. That was my first exposure to Dark Conspiracy's supporting online community. Most if not all stuff...

Re: Future Dawns...

Yeah, you've all heard it before, but I really want to get my modern conspiracy horror game - Future Dawns - into some sort of draft. As such I'm looking for a collaborator to bounce ideas off of, and to help me get over the various humps I've hit. Obviously the reason I'm asking here is because yo...

Hehehe - that's just me being a grumpy old man. It uses ducted fans for lift but jetpack is easier to write up (as well as actually say) than ducted-fan-pack and fan-pack just sounds wrong. However, I can't help myself and it annoys me when writers (I would not call any of them journalists anymore,...

Strange you don't need a license for it. I hear the blue flight suit which comes with it can come with or without the cobra insignia.

Excellent. I'll take these. What is the difference between Zero load and Normal load? Zero load is in "Swimming". A pair of good shoes and a tracksuit? That's my take. Zero load is a light set of clothes and nothing else. Normal load is anything beyond that up to (STR+CON)x3 kg. Now if th...
