(from "initiative..." by Braxen, dated Posted: Tue Sep 05, 2006 1:15 pm) If I may, we have developed/experimented with five alternate methods, only two seem appropriate. I included the one the players prefer below. The Combat Turn duration does not seem to have any effect on the game’s mec...

Yep! THAT book. Hmm does not sound too good but not too bad either. Are the adventures linked? Yes, the adventures are linked and lead the group through the intermingled plots to a "killer" encounter (if I remember correctly, the creature at the end has a hit capacity of 500 points). Pers...

Re: La Nouvelle-Orléans

If you are refering to the New Orlean "source" book, it is an extended adventure with some useful setting information. It contains multiple plots taking the group through many mini-adventures. Most of the setting information deals with the changes in the weather, culture, and etc. There is...

Though it somewhat slows the avantage of trained figters over untrained fighters down. If by "trained and untrained" you mean high and low initiative, true it can. However, characters with a higher initiative will more often then not go first. For example; a creature with a 6 initiative w...

That tsunami thing springs in mind... Yes, especially since there has been a noticable increase in earthquakes in that SAME area off of the coast over the last 6 or so years. I you would like to REALY shake up your timeline, try this ... a real threat just right for the Dark Lords and cruel GMs. &q...

The Careers should remain as they are. It is up the GM, and players, to vary the career terms selected to avoid making "powergaming clones". I ask, well actually require, each player to create character concepts with detailed backstories including Mustering Out - of course I assist in fles...

Can one agree with both? Well, I do. The basic information on empathy is rather slim, or at least not fully explained, and the information on each discipline could use filling out. I have attempted unsuccessfully to do this on my own; to the frustration of some of my players. ...I agree with what yo...

An article by Mike Marchi (Demonground Issue #11, Pg.67) has a great timeline to start with. I used it as a basis for our timeline, adding real world events (especially those that may have been caused by the Dark Lords' minions) and, of course, new fictional events.

You are welcome. It is fairly smooth and is similar to many other RPGs; so it seems easier for new players to DC to get used to.

(Better late then never *grin*) We have a "semi-automated" MS Excel 2k variant of a character sheet originally created by Micheal J. Marchi at the link below. This is not our most recent version (I no longer have access to this site to make updates - I changed ISPs and have not moved the s...

New Initiative?

If I may, we have developed/experimented with five alternate methods, only two seem appropriate. I included the one the players prefer below. The Combat Turn duration does not seem to have any effect on the game’s mechanics, unless you have a real NEED to track actions per minute. This variant retai...

That is a rather wide open question. I, or rather we, would like to see all the 1st and 2nd edition books re-released and perhaps the rest of the Sin City setting. At the same time we are looking forward to new adventures and settings with hopes that all the older products will be either updated to ...
